Jacob Grimm was born in 1785 in Hanau, Germany, and died in 1863. Wilhelm Grimm was born in 1786 in Hanau, Germany, and died in 1859. They were brothers who loved stories and language.They studied law at the University of Marburg but were especially interested in German folklore. They traveled and talked with people to collect old folk tales.In 1812, they published a book called Kinderund-Hausm%u00e4rchen (%u201cChildren%u2019s and Household Tales%u201d). It contains many fairy tales that people told by word of mouth, such as %u201cRapunzel%u201d and %u201cCinderella.%u201d After that, they worked on a large German dictionary called Deutsches W%u00f6rterbuch. They wrote down German words, their meanings, and their origins.Because of their work, many old German stories and words did not disappear. Today, we still read and enjoy the Brothers Grimm fairy tales.The Brothers Grimm
