13 PinocchioThere are bright lights, loud music, and many people cheering. The puppet master sees Pinocchio and claps his hands.%u201cWhat a special puppet! He can dance without strings!%u201d he says. %u201cCome, little puppet! Dance for the people!%u201dPinocchio is excited. He jumps onto the stage and begins to dance and spin. The crowd claps and cheers.%u201cBravo! Bravo!%u201d they shout.The puppet master is pleased. He gives Pinocchio five gold coins.%u201cHere, little puppet. You have done well!%u201d%u201cI will take these to Father! He will be so happy!%u201dBut as soon as Pinocchio leaves, the Fox and the Cat trick him and steal his money! Pinocchio is sad. He has no coins and no way to get home.As he walks down the road, he sees a kind old woman sitting outside her house.She smiles at him. %u201cHello, little boy. You look sad. Do you need help?%u201dPinocchio does not want to tell her the truth. He wants to seem smart and rich. So he says, %u201cOh, I still have my gold coins! They are safe in my pocket!%u201dBut suddenly, something strange happens!
