                                    47This amazing continent is a land of ice and snow. Antarctica is an extremely cold place on Earth. In winter, temperatures can drop to minus 80 degrees Celsius! It is also very dry and windy. Some parts do not receive rain or snow for almost two million years. Most of the world%u2019s fresh water stays in the ice of Antarctica.What makes Antarctica so interesting? Huge glaciers cover the land. The snow and ice shine in the sunlight. So, everything looks magical. In summer, the sun stays up all the time, so it is always light. In winter, it is dark all the time.Antarctica is home to some special animals. Here, you can see many types of penguins. There are also seals, whales, and different kinds of birds. These animals live well in this icy place.Now, imagine living in Antarctica. It would be quite an adventure! How do you think you would feel spending time in such a faraway and cold place? Would you like the endless daylight of summer, or the quiet darkness of winter?
