131In a democracy, the right to vote is how people have a say in their government. In most of the countries, voting age starts at 18.In a democracy, elections should be fair and free. This means everyone has an equal chance to vote, and no one force you to vote a certain way. A key idea in democracy is that everyone is equal, and everyone's vote counts the same. While the majority of voters decide on leaders or laws, democracies also protect the rights of minority groups. Democracies often work to solve problems peacefully, without violence, because people choose their leaders and lawyers make laws through discussion and voting.
